Kenya, an East African country has drawn visitors from all corners of the world for ages. There various reasons why safari seekers prefer Kenya in particular. To begin with, this country boasts a variety of national parks and game reserves which are home to over four million wild animals. The Maasai Mara Game Reserve, located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley is the top safari destination in Kenya. July to October is the peak season to watch the world great wildebeest migration spectacle. The Nairobi National Park is ideal for short time holiday travelers. Covering an area of 117 square kilometers, this park is located seven kilometers away from the city. It is Kenya first national park, which was founded in 1945. It is an Orphanage Center, which caters for injured and deserted young wild animals. The animals are returned to their original habitats after recovery. Wild animals commonly seen here include the cheetah, leopard, buffalo, elephant, crocodile, hippo and giraffe among others.

A visit to Kenya will not be complete without touring the Amboseli National Park located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. This park was founded in 1974 and it is the best place in Africa where you can watch elephants at a close distance. It is a photography haven for wild animals such as the buffalo, elephant, cheetah, leopard, antelope and many others. Here, you will have a good view of Mount Kilimanjaro (the highest peak in Africa).

The Tsavo National Park, located between Mombasa and Nairobi is a famous park in Kenya. This large park is famous for the huge lion population (Tsavo Man-Eaters). The Tsavo Park is divided into two, Tsavo East and Tsavo West, which are divided by the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. These two parks form the largest park in Kenya. Apart from the large numbers of lions, you will certainly see other animals such as the zebra, gazelle, hyena and the antelope.
