About Lake Nakuru National Park

There are millions of flamingoes and few wild animals such as white rhinos, gazelle, warthog, and lion among others. The Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the few Great Rift Valley attractions in Kenya that have the potential to hold a large number of birds. The place has alkaline water ecosystem that suits other bird species such as European winter, black winged stilts, and avocets in which can be great experience. During courtship, a group of upto 10 individuals hold their heads and neck high and call to one another.

    They then move the head side to side. Over the next several minutes, the rhythm increases and other members join in the frenzy, which can reach up to 50 individuals. It is one of the magnificent displays that everyone needs to experience. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the habitats around the lake systems attract a wealth of large mammals like rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard and provides one of the best areas in Kenya for bird watching.


Detailed Itinerary

2 hours 30 minutes: Travel time to Lake Nakuru

6.30a.m: You will be picked from your Nairobi hotel.

Depart for Lake Nakuru with a stop-over of about 15 minutes to view the incredible Great Rift Valley on the way. Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru you will have a game drive until lunch time. Look out for rhinos, flamingos, giraffe, buffalos, lions and the amazing views of the lake especially from the lodge.


1300 - 1400Hrs:  Lunch will be at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge final Game drive until 15:00Hrs and thereafter drive back to Nairobi.
